Canada Invoice Template (GST/HST)
Canada uses GST federally, with several provinces combining it into HST — so the rate you charge depends on where your client is. This template defaults to 5% GST; adjust it to your province's combined HST rate (e.g. 13% in Ontario) as needed.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a GST/HST number to invoice in Canada?
- You must register once your revenue passes the small-supplier threshold. Registered businesses must show their GST/HST number and charge the applicable rate for the client's province.
- What GST/HST rate should I charge?
- It depends on the province of supply — 5% GST in some provinces, or combined HST (e.g. 13–15%) in others. Set the correct rate in the tax field.
